Meet The Jeweller

Hello! I'm Rhianon, the face behind Rhielle Design.

For me, this journey began long before it became a business.

What started in childhood in the Northern Territory; as an obsession with paint, textiles, clay and all things sparkly, eventually evolved into formal training - and I've never looked back!

Apprenticeship

In 2016 I began an apprenticeship with Darwins top custom jewellery store; Creative Jewellers. I was thankful to be exposed to all kinds of jewellery techniques from simple to complex repairs, restringing, gemstone setting, cad/cast and handmaking techniques.
As the only apprentice in the Northern Territory, my courses were not offered in Darwin. Because of this, I flew to and from Brisbane for my trade school training blocks at TAFE Queensland.
In 2018 in the 3rd year of my apprenticeship I was awarded the Apprentice of the Year & Best Technical Aspects Award at TAFE. This was a pivotal achievement that has driven me forward throughout my career.
In 2020 I graduated with a Certificate III in Jewellery Manufacture.

The Start of Rhielle...

Over the years, my business has taken on many names and forms as I have worked to understand my own style, values and identity as both a person and a jeweller. In 2022, when my husband and I moved to Brisbane, I began thinking more deeply about why I create and what I wanted my work to say.

Jewellery became more than something beautiful to make. It became a way for me to express feelings, memories and emotions that can sometimes be difficult to put into words. I want the pieces I create to make you feel something; whether that is connection, confidence, nostalgia, joy, or simply a sense that the piece reflects something meaningful to you.

I have always been driven by learning and exploring new ideas. Over the years, I have experimented with different styles, techniques and approaches to jewellery making and design, continually refining what feels most like me. Rhielle Design has grown alongside that process, evolving as my skills, interests and perspective have changed, and I know it will continue to do so.

The Vision

My work is inspired by the natural world and the shapes, textures, movement and imperfections found within it. I’m drawn to creating pieces with depth and character, often using coloured gemstones and diamonds to bring individuality and emotion into a design.
One of the things I love most about jewellery is how closely it becomes tied to the people who wear it. I get to create pieces for engagements, weddings, memories and moments that are deeply personal and being trusted with those stories is something I value enormously.
Everything I create is designed with longevity in mind. I care deeply about durability, quality materials and craftsmanship.
My hope is that your jewellery feels meaningful from the moment you receive it and continues to be loved for many years to come.
