This piece was inspired by the shapes and textures of the landscapes in which opals are found.
The textured plate and soldered granules represent the sandy plains and rocky formations of Outback Queensland.
At its heart lies a Koroit opal, its iridescent hues surrounded by created emeralds, meticulously chosen to enhance the opal's natural beauty with shades of green, creating a piece that embodies the rich and diverse palette of the Outback.
